Nancy Angeline Bray, age 95, passed from this earth on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She leaves Dwayne, her loving husband on the Sparta farm where they labored side by side for 74 years. Nancy was born January 25, 1919 the daughter of John K. and Ida (Whitsett) Simpson. Nancy was a faithful member of the Sparta Church Of Christ and will be remembered for her Sunday dinners, kindness and generosity. She is also survived by her children Tom Bray and wife Jane of Springfield, Jane Sherrow and husband Larry of Sparta and Alice Samuel and husband Steve of Rogersville; grandchildren Greg Bray and wife Nichole of Bentonville, AR, David Bray and wife Michelle of Rogers, AR, Mark Sherrow and wife Karey of Springfield, Tim Sherrow of Sparta, Matthew and wife Shannon Sherrow of Springfield; great-grandchildren Adam, Zach, Ryan and Kayla Bray, McKinsey, Jynna, Beck and Eli Sherrow; great grandfriends Jason and Jessica Noguera and Reuben Jones; sisters Inis Mitchum Gillihan of Raymore, Mary Harris of Ozark, Helen Acheson and husband R.J. of Stockton; brother John H. Simpson and wife Kay of Searcy, AR; sister-in-laws Wilda Baxter and Barbara Bray of Ozark and Phyllis Simpson of Sparta; many nieces, nephews and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles and George Simpson; one sister Mildred Ferrell and two infant brothers. Nancy loved children and would have been honored for donations to be made in her memory to Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 North Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757. Funeral services for Nancy will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Ted Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery.
