Velma May Walker December 25, 1930 - March 27, 2014

Velma May Walker, age 83 of Ozark, Missouri, formerly of Chadwick, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 in Ozark Riverview Manor, Ozark. She was born December 25, 1930, at Goodhope the daughter of Katie Hampton. On October 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Fred Walker and to this union two sons were born. Velma is survived by her son Lee Walker and wife Janis of Sparta; daughter-in-law Dianne Walker of Sparta; two sisters Bonnie Miller and Charlotte Wagner; a brother Charles Kyger, Jr.; a granddaughter Karen Peak and husband Roy; a grandson David Walker; five great-grandchildren Lindsey and Kallie Bilyeu, Kelsey and Kyle Walker and Dustin Peak, other caring relatives and friends. Velma was preceded in death by her mother Katie (Hampton) Kyger; her husband Fred Walker in 1987; a son Frank Walker in 2013; two brothers Howard and Grant Kyger and a sister Charlene Roberts. Velma was a loving Mom, Grandma and “Nanny” as she was called by her great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services for Velma will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 in Chadwick Memorial Cemetery with Clifford Day officiating. Visitation will be 12:30p.m. to 1:30p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
