Norma Maxine Short, age 97 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. She was born November 16, 1924, in Sparta, Missouri, the daughter of Basil and Nona (Park) Allred. On January 20, 1945, Norma was united in marriage to Victor Neal Short who preceded her in death February 7, 2009.

Norma was a lifelong Christian County resident and homemaker. She enjoyed the rural farm life, while living on a large Ne-Sho Holstein cattle farm at Meadow Green Farms in Sparta. Norma became a faithful Christian at a young age, she was a member of Sparta Christian Church and presently attended Ozark Christian Church. For many years, she shared her talents and played the piano at Sparta Christian Church. She was always a busy lady but very fashionable, who enjoyed cooking family meals, reading, canning vegetables and knitting. Family was her focus for center of attention and she loved all her family and grandchildren unconditionally. In her spare time, Norma enjoyed attending Sparta Garden Club and was a member of Missouri Council Extension Club. Norma will be sadly missed but her loving memory will live on forever in the hearts of her wonderful family.

Norma is survived by her son Phil Short and wife Nancy; daughter Brenda Teague and husband Randy; grandchildren Sherri Gimlin and husband Keith, Kevin Short, Rusty Estes, Ryan Estes, Randall Estes and wife Amanda, Brooke Martin and husband Dennis and Brad Teague; great-grandchildren Brandi Sillavan and husband Aason, Collin Gimlin fiancé Samantha Bollinger; Riley Short, Cooper Short, Macy Short, Presley Short, Reese Estes, Ryder Estes, Collin Teague, Natalie Teague, Andrew Spencer and wife Becca, Madison Seewald and husband Jackson; great-great-granddaughter Whitney Spencer; other caring relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Norma will be laid to rest beside her husband Neal, in Sparta Cemetery. Donations may be made to Ozark Christian Church or charity of your choice.
