Patricia Jeanne Mills June 14, 1929 - March 13, 2012

Patricia Jeanne Mills, age 82 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, March 13, 2012 in her home. She was born June 14, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Shirley (Scott) Anderson. On May 7, 1945 she was united in marriage to Ray Mills and begin a relationship that lasted over 60 years. Their relationship and the loving care they invariably shared provided a solid foundation for their lives as well as the lives of their children and entire family. Patricia worked throughout her life, but never lacked for time and effort to devote to her husband and family. She was invariably kind to others and gentle in spirit. She has left us now to reunite with her soul-mate in a place of peace and happiness. While we grieve for her passing, we also rejoice in the time she had with us, and the extraordinary good fortune of having a special relationship with a precious lady. She will live on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends, and in that, has found the only real form of true immortality. Fifty years ago, after the death of her sister, Patricia’s big heart was extended to raising her sister’s daughter, Kandy. She was 8 years old at the time and was raised in the Mills home as their very own child. Kandy always felt loved and was happy to have a loving mother and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Mills and one sister. Patricia is survived by four children and their spouses, Scott Mills and Linda, Barry Mills and Aliene all of Fremont Hills, Kandy Bloomer and Roger of Ava and Kathie Stutesmun and Leon of Ozark; two sisters, 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Linden Cemetery.
