Rita Faye Lawson January 10, 1956 - August 8, 2019

Rita Faye Lawson, age 63 of Sparta, Missouri formerly of Springfield, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 10, 1956 in Tuscumbia, Missouri the daughter of Frank and Daisey Duncan. On September 9, 1977 she was united in marriage to Rick Lawson at Iberia, Missouri.

Rita was a dedicated employee at Ozarks Community Hospital of Springfield for more than 30 years where she held several positions including her final position as a department manager. She enjoyed her work and developed many longtime friends. Rita was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and in returned she loved her entire family. She was especially proud of her two daughters Keisha and Stephanie and her only grand-baby, Jessiah. Rita was also a cherished member of the Sparta Church of Christ where she made many wonderful friends and acknowledged the influence the church had on her life.

Rita is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Rick; two daughters Keisha and Stephanie; grand-baby Jessiah; brothers Frankie and Rick Duncan; sisters Sue Piggott and Nita Cochran; several nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Zeda Cochran.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 12, 2019 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Ted Spencer officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. and be held one hour prior to the service time. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery.
