Robert Blackston January 6, 1947 - February 16, 2022

Robert Fayte Blackston, age 75 of Ozark, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in his home. He was born January 6, 1947, in Berryville, Arkansas the son of Robert Carl and Lillie Eudee (Johnson) Blackston. On March 29, 1973, Robert was united in marriage to Janie Hall and together they had five children. Robert was a dedicated husband, brother, son, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In 1965, Robert was drafted as a member of United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He achieved his rank and served as a Combat Engineer with Company C and received an honorable discharge in 1967.

Robert was dedicated to working hard and owning his own business for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, NASCAR and drag racing. Robert had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger, he always enjoyed having long conversations and coffee with everyone.

Robert is survived by his wife Janie; son Marvin and wife Shari; daughter Tara and husband Robert; daughter Shelly and John; daughter Mindi; and son Joey and wife Misty. His beautiful grandchildren, Chase, Brent, Blake, Conor, Colton and Amoriah, Austin and Amanda, Avery, Israel, Jadyn, Kayla, Logan, Cash, Laiken and Chase. Great-grandchildren Bailee, Gracelynn, Jaxon and Willow. He is also survived by a brother Carl Blackston; sister Joann Buell and husband Gary; several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Robert’s family would like to thank all family members, friends and co-workers for all the visits, calls and messages of love and support. Go rest high on that mountain Robert, our dad and papa, you will be sadly missed but will live on forever in the hearts of your loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Boyd Church, Berryville, Arkansas. Burial will follow in Hale Cemetery, Berryville, Arkansas.     Robert Fayte always took adversity in stride. He could take any calamity and convert it into a accomplishment . He told me at his mom’s funeral that the second half of his life was spent making up for the first half. I think he achieved it. Rest in peace. You’ve earned it.
