Robert “Bob” Hendrickson August 3, 1957 - July 15, 2014

Barnes Family Funerals - Robert "Bob" Hendrickson

Robert “Bob” Hendrickson, age 56 of Springfield, Missouri, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. He was united in marriage to Julie Marrs Hendrickson on March 21, 1987. Family was truly his priority, including his surviving wife, daughter, Beth Anne, son Bobby and wife Jennifer and their two children, Brett and Macy Hendrickson, all of Springfield; mother, Lavada Hendrickson, of Springfield; grandmother, Rheba Eddy, of Danville, AR; sisters, Debbie Foell and Flo Lynn Hathcock, of Springfield, and Rose Cash and Jimmie Best, of Oklahoma City, OK; nephew, Jamie Hathcock, of Springfield; mother-in-law, Barbara Bullington, of Springfield; and many other loved family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Hendrickson, son, Brett Hendrickson, and father-in-law, Dale Bullington. Bob became a follower of Jesus while growing up at First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for many years, where he taught children and youth ministries. While outliving a rare cancer diagnosis, he was quick to give credit to Jesus for the many years he was able to spend loving and serving family and friends as a testament to God’s grace. Bob was a local Farmers Insurance agent for 33 years and was proud to own and operate his business alongside his son. He had a passion for the outdoors that he enjoyed sharing with friends and family, especially his love of bird hunting. He felt most “at home” traveling on the open road with those he loved, whether en route to hunting in the Kansas outdoors, an Oklahoma Sooners football game, or an adventure to the mountains. Bob coached countless seasons for his kids’ and grandkids’ teams and was a mentor to many more than just his own children. Funeral services to celebrate Bob’s life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday in the church. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. Services under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Life Builders Ministries, PO Box 14141, Springfield, MO 65814, where Bob spent years volunteering and showing new friends the love of Christ. My heart is broken today as I learned of Bob’s passing. It seems like I’ve known him almost my entire life. He was one of the best men I have ever been blessed to know. A strong, faithful Godly man who LOVED The Lord. He always had a smile on his face and always a quick wit and a funny story or two. He was kind and loving. If you knew him at all you knew how much he loved his family, especially his children. I can’t imagine a better daddy than Bob. He loved his wife and always spoke so lovingly about her. And of course he loved The Lord. The world lost an amazing man, but heaven gained a precious angel, I’m certain there was a special place prepared especially for him! I’m so thankful that by the grace of Jesus I will see him again. My love, thoughts and prayers to all of the family, I pray for comfort for you as you mourn the loss of such an amazing man. God bless♡

Please know that we are sending our love, thoughts, and prayers. I have been one of Debbie Foell’s best friends since the 1970s, and though I’ve never met Bob personally, I feel as if I know him through all the wonderful things Debbie has said. I was so sad to hear of his passing, and I know how much he’s suffered, but the one comfort we can take from all of this is that he is wrapped in the Lord’s arms now. God bless all of you.

    Dear Julie and Beth Ann,
Our daughter Christina Duzan shared the sad news of Bob’s death. We remember meeting you and your husband when our daughter went to WJC with Beth Ann. We are praying for your strength and comfort and asking The Lord to take care of all of your needs. In knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior there is hope and your husband and dad is now at home with Jesus.
