Michael Paxson, age 66 of Sparta, Missouri passed away early Monday morning, July 14, 2014 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born October 23, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida the son of Wayne and Evelyn Paxson. On July 20, 2002 he was united in marriage to Kathy Johnson. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting with his family. He also was a enthusiate race car fan who favored the all American race car driver and team owner, the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. Michael followed Nascar and attended races at Daytona Beach, Kansas City, and Telladega speedways. As a final act of kindness, Michael was a donor so others may benefit from his generous gift. Michael is survived by his wife Kathy; his three sons Travis Paxson, Wade Paxson and Mike Paxson and wife Ronda; daughter Andrea Paxson; three grandchildren Michael, Austin and Andrew; one great-granddaughter Lexi; two brothers Kirk Paxson and wife Sheila, Bruce Paxson and wife Karen and several other caring relatives. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Kyle. Memorial Visitation will be Thursday evening 5:00 to 7:00 pm July 17, 2014 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
