Stanley D. Gideon, age 79 of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Ozark Riverview Manor. He was born May 4, 1932 the son of Harrison and Claudia (DeWitt) Gideon. On July 5, 1980 he was united in marriage to Carol (Stegmann) Timpe. Stanley was a longtime resident of Christian County. He enjoyed the rural life on his farm, raising his cattle and chickens. He also enjoyed his profession as a construction worker, having coffee with his many friends at the coffee shop and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Hazel Riley, son Rick Timpe and an infant son, William Gideon. Stanley is survived by his wife Carol, son Benjamin Gideon and wife Kim, three daughters from his previous marriage, Karen Sue Matthews and husband Roy, Darla Swearengin and husband Robert and Julie Ann Gideon all of Ozark; three additional surviving children, Charles Timpe and wife Debbie, Mike Timpe and wife Kelly and Katherine Marie Timpe; sister Carol Dean Shipman of Springfield; special friends Jack Baker and Mike Schupbach; three grandchildren, nine additional grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other caring relatives, great neighbors and many good friends. Graveside funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Spokane Cemetery with Pastor Benny DeWitt officiating.
