Thelma Christine Lee September 10, 1922 - July 31, 2011

Thelma Christine Lee, age 88 of Sparta, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Cox South Hospital. She was born August 10, 1922 the daughter of Lynn and Edna (Payne) Shipman. On August 17, 1942, she was united in marriage to Gordon Lee, who preceded her in death in 1980. Christine was a longtime resident of Christian County and a devoted member of Sparta Church of Christ. The most cherished and best remembered times of her life have been the “togetherness” of her family. Christine also enjoyed having a season pass to MSU Lady Bears games, gardening and being outdoors. She was a wonderful Mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Leonard and Linville Shipman. Christine is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, LaQueta and Keith Luttrull of Sparta, JoAnita and Vern Haskins of Fordland; three grandchildren Melissa Dilbeck, Jenny Neuenschwander, and Aaron Haskins; three great-grandchildren Blake Neuenschwander, Laiken and Ally Dilbeck; other caring relatives and several good friends. Funeral services were held at 11A.M. Wednesday August 3, 2011 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Ted Spencer officiating. Burial followed in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation was held 6:30-8:00 P.M.
