Virgil Davis March 21, 1929 - April 6, 2018

Virgil Davis, age 89 of Sparta, Missouri passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born March 21, 1929 in Reeds Spring, Missouri the son of Everett and Lucy (Mease) Davis. On November 17, 1952 he was united in marriage to Wilma Lee Clevenger. At the beginning of his career, Virgil was instrumental with the building and completion of the Bull Shoals Lake Dam project. After the dam was completed, Virgil moved to Sparta and purchased a farm and together he and Wilma enjoyed the rural life. Virgil also loved the outdoors, tending to his cattle and was a hardworking man.Virgil is survived by his wife, Wilma Lee; two brothers Don Davis and wife Joanne and Jim Davis all of Galena; one sister Virginia Hedrick of Gravette, Arkansas and a sister-in-law June Davis. Virgil is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. Funeral services for Virgil will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in the Eisenhour Cemetery, Spokane.
