Virginia Holdren February 22, 1930 - October 25, 2021

Virginia Adean (Richardson) Holdren, age 91 of Rogersville, Missouri journeyed to her heavenly home Monday, October 25, 2021. She was born February 22, 1930 in Summersville, Missouri to Norman and Grace (Hicks) Richardson. She married her husband, Glen Ivan Holdren on September 4, 1948. She welcomed her eldest daughter, Iva Jean on January 19, 1950, and her younger daughter, Rhonda Marie on August 25, 1959.

Virginia was a high school graduate who worked in various positions while keeping an excellent home for her family members. She and Ivan opened their own business, Best Supply Company with another partner in the late 1970s. Virginia functioned as part owner and office manager. She kept impeccable finance records for the company until she and Ivan sold their share of the business in the late 1980s. Virginia enjoyed gardening and caring for both houseplants and outdoor plants for many years. She was an amazing cook and kept a beautiful, orderly home they proudly built together. She valued her family most of all and enjoyed many wonderful vacations together. Virginia particularly loved traveling with Ivan on several private fishing excursions in Canada, but also enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends every year. She also enjoyed birdwatching and always kept feeders and birdhouses for her birds.

Virginia is survived by her brothers Darrell Richardson, Dale Richardson, David Richardson, Roy Richardson; sisters Dena Bunch, Billie Lutes, and Dora Rice; husband Ivan Holdren; daughter Rhonda Holdren; grandsons Christopher Smith and Michael Smith, granddaughters Maria Hernandez and Rhiannon Smith; great-granddaughters Jamie Smith, Isabella Smith, Aurora Smith, Felix Shane and Aria Slack; great-grandsons Elliot Smith, Elijah Shane and Connor Slack; as well as many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her daughter Iva Jean Hernandez; brothers Verlin Richardson and Robert Richardson; sisters Pauline Pitts and Rita Adkins.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday October 29, 2021 followed by services at 1:00 P.M. at Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.  A short graveside memorial along with burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Eastlawn Cemetery in Springfield, MO.  Friends and family are invited to all services. Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
