Wanda Sue Owens (Pogue), 74, of Bruner, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Wanda was born on May 16, 1950, in Bruner, Missouri, to Ray Thomas Pogue and Daisy “Lucille” Pogue. As the oldest of three children, Wanda was a pillar of love and support for her family, offering a selfless heart and an unwavering devotion that touched everyone who knew her.

Wanda married the love of her life, Jack Owens, on September 3, 1972. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Michael (Andrea) of Fordland and Robert (Jennifer) of Bruner. Wanda was deeply proud of her sons, cherishing each milestone they reached and the lives they had built. She was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren: Keith, Katie, Lucas, and Jacob, and 4 great-grandchildren: Tanner, Oliver, Andrew, and Millie.

Wanda’s family was her greatest joy, and she devoted herself to them wholeheartedly. She is survived by her husband, Jack, her sons, Michael and Robert, her grandchildren, and her brother Jim Pogue of Bruner, as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Lucille, her father Ray Thomas, and her sister Donna Phillips.

A devout Christian, Wanda was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri. She lived her life with faith, compassion, and dedication, always striving to help others and make the world a better place. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her sons, and the love and pride she had for them will be carried in their hearts forever.

Funeral services for Wanda will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2025 in Barnes Family Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Hull officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Family Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, February 17, 2025, in Barnes Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Online condolences may be shared at wwwbarnesfamilyfunerals.com.
