Betsy K. Lathrop, age 71 of Republic, Missouri passed away in her home, Friday, July 1, 2022. Betsy was born April 1, 1951, to Harold and Katharine (Dennis) Lathrop in Minnesota, Minneapolis. Betsy was united in marriage to Charles Cale until his death on December 27, 2020. They had one daughter, Elizabeth. Betsy also had a bonus daughter, Renee Cale. Betsy and Chuck moved to Colorado in 1984, then later they moved back to Missouri in 2008. Betsy was employed and later retired from the University of Colorado where she worked as a Payroll and Benefit Services Manager over 20 years. Once retired, Betsy and her husband enjoyed traveling the U.S. and going to music festivals.
Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and three siblings. Betsy is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth and husband Ian Cohoon, Renee (Cale) and Tony Gamel, granddaughter Cassilyn Enyart, two brothers Doug (Irene) and Dean Lathrop.
Betsy will be cremated and interned at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with her husband. Arrangements and services are under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
Donations are suggested to be made in her honor to the non-profit organization Dig Deep (Navajowaterproject.org). Betsy was passionate about everyone having clean water available to them. Dig Deep works with the Navajo Nation to provide families with clean, running water in their homes.
