Barnes Family Funerals - Bobby Leo Young

Bobby Leo Young, 84, of Ozark, Missouri, center of his family, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 22, 2018. He crossed over Jordan peacefully from his earthly home. Bobby was born in Ozark, Missouri, on June 21, 1933, son of Jerome and Erestine Young. After marriage to his first wife Betty, he served in the Army. Bobby retired as the Florida District Superintendent of the Ceco Company after 30 years of employment in commercial construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He spent a generous amount of time outdoors with friends and family and loved to be on his tractor. He taught his children and grandchildren that you find the hardest working man on the job and set your goal to be even better than him. Often saying, “you’re burning daylight.” After being widowed for several years he met an angel at a Fifth Sunday Church Singing. On their first date, he arrived in his signature outfit – starched pressed jeans, cowboy boots and leather vest. One taste of her homemade coconut cream pie and the rest is history. Bobby and Darlaine used their talents to minister and witness to others, faithfully attending Victory Baptist Church, always giving the glory to God. Bobby was a man of great faith who studied the word of God diligently, often up to four hours a day. He served God through serving others. The Tri-County Baptist Association was blessed by his talents in the construction of their new Mission Center located in Nixa, Missouri. He often took the opportunity to preach a sermon to his family while giving thanks to his heavenly father with marathon prayers before meals. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bobby is survived by his wife of 14 years Darlaine Young; son Bobby Young and wife Andra; daughter Treasa Odgen and husband Sam; stepchildren Rodney Fletcher and wife Elizabeth; Darla Calvery and husband Chris; Karen Hill and husband Tim; Mark Fletcher; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one living sister. Darlaine and family my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. I think of you often and how very blessed you were by Bob’s presence in your lives. It touched my heart when visiting with Karen and her sweet reference to Bob as Dad – and I totally agree with Bob – your coconut pies are still my very favorite! Love always! Andrea
