Casandra Hickerson May 23, 1982 - February 3, 2023

Date of Funeral

February 10, 2023

On Friday, February 3, 2023, Casandra Elaine Hickerson, a beloved mother, daughter, and sister, was called home to her Heavenly Father at only 40 years old. She was an amazing mother to her deeply cherished daughters Alexandria and Callie. Born to Anthony and Jennifer DiCamillo, loving sister to Savannah, Miranda, Cheyenne, and Tony.

Casi served a mission spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, she loved her savior dearly and desired that everyone could know him. She devoted two years entirely to His service. After returning, she promptly attended the Utah College of Massage Therapy. Casi had a passion for helping people move and feel better, effecting both physical and spiritual healing. She was fortunate to have found a career she loved and enjoyed going to work every day.

Casandra was wildly adventurous and had a wonderful sense of humor. She thought she was hilarious, and sometimes other people did too. Casandra had a huge heart and was easy to love. Making friends with everyone she met and she was sure she knew everyone.

Casi’s greatest joy in life was affectionately raising her girls to learn and become strong, independent, and smart young ladies. Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us there is always light in the darkness. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us. In the words of her favorite song, The Battle Hymn of the Republic:

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never sound retreat;

He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgement-seat;

Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him!

Be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!

His truth is marching on.

    Hello, I know you all do not know me but I worked with Cass at Labella here in waco tx. I loved her so much and she made such an impact in my life with her sweet positive nature. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I know those are not very comforting words but they are from many hearts here. She touched so many hearts and had the opportunity to minister in a way that is very unique. All of us here at labella are just heartbroken to hear of her passing. Know that we all know her well and truly and are praying for here family and those sweet babies. I love the suggestion of a magnolia tree and will be planting one here at my house in her memory.

    Casi was a member of the Waco, Texas 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also served her mission in Rochester, NY and was serving in the Fairport Ward when I was living there. I think I can say for everyone in Waco 2nd Ward that our hearts are breaking because of this tragedy, and we are mourning and praying for her family, especially Alex and Callie. She did not deserve this.
