Donald D. Siefert December 31, 1937 - August 20, 2020

Donald Daryl Siefert, age 82 of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020.  He was born December 31, 1937 in Santa Monica, California to Michael Siefert and Margaret Chapman Siefert and was the eldest of five children.  He attended Canoga Park High School and Pierce Junior College in California.  In 1957 Don joined the United States Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Corporal E4 as an instructor of Weaponry.  Upon discharge he joined his father and two brothers in operating their Chevron Service Station.

In 1968 Don joined the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department where he served as a Deputy Sheriff until moving to Oklahoma. There Don worked for the Zebco Fishing Tackle Company as a representative.  His passion was fishing and after Zebco he worked for Lowrance Electronics.  During this time he made a fishing video explaining how to use sonar technology and fished numerous tournaments as a pro fisherman. He set a new lake record at Naciemento Lake in San Luis Obispo, CA.

In 1990 Don moved to Arizona and co-owned a car wash with an old Sheriff buddy.  He met his wife, Louise, in Scottsdale and they married in 1992.  From there they moved to Sacramento where he became employed by Peak Performance as a new car service rep.  In 2000 the company moved the Sieferts to Missouri, where Don worked until his retirement.

Don and his wife enjoyed camping in their RV, fishing on Table Rock Lake and Ballroom dancing.

Don is survived by his loving wife Louise, son Michael, daughter Danielle, step-daughters Lori, Theresa, Liz and numerous grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Marge.

Don will be sadly missed but his loving memory will live on forever.

Because of COVID-19 memorial services for Don will announced at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri with full military honors.
