Donald Loren Bowline, age 70 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 in Select Specialty Hospital of Springfield. He was born November 3, 1941 at Versailles, Missouri the son of Loren Ariel and Doris (Stringer) Bowline. On August 15, 1972 he was united in marriage to Vera (Gerhart) Laas. After being employed 35 years with Southwestern Bell and AT&T Telephone, Donald retired in 1998. During his life time, he enjoyed showing quarter horses, square dancing, bowling and fishing at his lake house. He also enjoyed volunteering for AT&T Pioneer, serving as president of a volunteer fire department for four years and being a member of a Christian Camping Club. Donald was a well known “Texas Jam Host” and favored playing a guitar and singing Gospel songs. Donald proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, two step-daughters and a step-granddaughter. Donald is survived by his wife Vera; three children Angie Peitz and husband Allen of Ozark, Gayle Bowline of Nixa, Troy Bowline and wife Jana of Ozark; a brother Bob Bowline; two sisters Darlys Cagle and Karla Harleman; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Donald is also survived by two step-daughters Sandy Welpman and husband Randy, Pam Lester and husband Mike; two step-sons Andrew Laas and wife Michelle and Nelson Eighmy; eight step-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren; other caring relatives and numerous friends. Funeral services were held at 12:30 P.M., Thursday, October 25, 2012 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation was held from 5-7 P.M., Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial with full military honors followed in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
