Ethel Eileen McIntosh, age 98 of Forsyth, Missouri passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, in her home. Eileen as she was fondly known, was born January 11, 1926, in Big Springs-Lineville, Iowa to her parents, Jamie Harvey Woods and Gertrude Graten ( Ellis) Woods. On April 6, 1946, Eileen was united in marriage to Carroll Dean McIntosh.
Eileen was a dedicated educator who began her teaching career at the young age of 18 and continued teaching for 44 years. After retirement, she enjoyed being a substitute teacher for two years. Eileen was a member of the Lineville Methodist Church. During her spare time, Eileen enjoyed her flowers, square dancing, cardinals and the rural farm life. As a longtime teacher her passion for teaching was a gift and so was her love for reading. Eileen will be sadly missed but her loving memory will live on forever in the hearts of her wonderful family and friends.
Eileen is survived by a daughter Debra Woodley of Forsyth, Missouri; a son Jim McIntosh and wife Ronda of Creston, Iowa; a sister Marge Smith of Forsyth, Missouri; a granddaughter Misty Phillips-Woodley and wife Nicol; a great-grandchild Kiersten Anderson; a great-great-granddaughter Nadia; many beloved nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother-in-law, Gene Smith.
