James R. Norman, age 85 of Nixa, Missouri passed away early Monday morning, March 2, 2015 in Jordon Creek Nursing and Rehab of Springfield. On December 30, 1929, he was born at Lepanto, Arkansas, as the ninth and last child of Jesse J. and Ella (Nichols) Noman. He was united in marriage to Norene Derr on October 3, 1981. Most of his adult life Jim lived in the Chicago area and retired from Palos Community Hospital as a maintenance employee in 1995. After retiring, he and Norene moved to Clever and in 1999 they moved to Nixa. Jim attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Nixa. Jim shared his life with his loving wife of 33 years, and is survived by Norene; two sons, James J. and Robert W. Norman; a daughter Linda Shrout and husband Kim; sister-in-law Nora Norman; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, many nieces, nephews and other caring relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jesse and Albert; six sisters Thelma, Nora, Pauline, Ethel Hazel, Willie Dee and Lucille. Funeral Mass will be 11:00A.M. Friday, March 6, 2015 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 844 South Gregg Road, Nixa, Missouri. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00A.M. to 11:00A.M. in the church. Burial will 1:00P.M. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Nichols Cemetery, Lepanto, Arkansas. Arrangements and services under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
