John Paul Handley, age 85 of Rogersville, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. He was born October 20, 1928 in Osgood, Missouri the son of David and Bulah (Vincel) Handley. On May 8, 1951 he was united in marriage to Elnore Faye Handley and after celebrating 58 years of marriage, Elnora preceded Paul in death on March 24, 2010. On June 18, 2011 he was united in marriage to Janet Handley. Paul was a dedicated and longtime employee of Wilbert Burial Vaults and retired after 38 years of service. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was inducted on January 3, 1951 and transferred to the United States Army Reserve where served until May 1, 1956. Paul presently attended First Free Will Baptist Church of Ozark. Paul is survived by his wife Janet; six children Delilah Hargis and husband Russell, Deborah Long and husband Tony, Deltenah Long and husband Robert Long, David Handley and wife Glenda, Delmyrah Mullen and husband Randy and Darlah Huggins and friend Randy; two step sons Robert Turner and wife Angela and William Turner; a step-daughter Andria Hayman; eighteen grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, other caring relatives and several friends. In addition to his first wife, Paul was also preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Deanah and two infant sons.Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, July 13, 2014 in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Gary Mitchener and Pastor Ben DeWitt officiating.
