Jon G. Sorlie, age 72 of Ozark, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 in his home. He was born March 14, 1944 in Texas and blessed with loving parents, Jacob George and Edna (Nevils) Sorlie. On September 16, 1967 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Carol McCurdy and this union was blessed with two sons. Jon proudly served our country in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He loved being outdoors playing golf, fishing on the lake or working in his garden. Jon passed away just as he lived; with character, dignity and perseverance. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jon is lovingly survived by his wife, Carol of 48 years; two sons Eric Sorlie and wife Timaree and Jacob Sorlie and wife Cindy; five grandchildren Kian, Beckett, Malin, Locke and Collin and one brother Michael Sorlie. Thinking and praying for you and your family. Although I didn’t know your father, I’ve witnessed how you are with your own children and your extended soccer family. Your character has obviously be molded by your parents, meaning both are special people. Stay strong and have good thoughts about your dad. Losing my father 10 years ago was difficult but as time goes by the grieve is replaced with the thoughts of special times you shared. I promise missing him will never go away, but it does get better. I smile at least once a week when I think of my day. Prayers my friend
