Knial Iorg February 18, 1942 - December 4, 2023

Date of Funeral

December 6, 2023

Knial D. Iorg was born at home in Elkhead, Missouri to Lloyd M. Iorg and Gladys M. Iorg; followed by siblings Carroll Iorg (Betty), and Donna Dalton (Ernie). Knial attended and graduated from Sparta High School in 1959.

Following graduation he worked 9 years for Dayco Products, then for the Springfield Fire Department for 25 years.  Many Springfield students remember learning fire safety from “Charlie’s Angel,” a miniature fire truck he and his crew built to reach schools and daycares.

After retiring, Knial served his community in many capacities, including chauffeuring cancer patients from the lake areas to Springfield for chemotherapy. Knial served several years on Christian County Planning & Zoning and was instrumental in getting a tax passed for Senior Services as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Christian County Coalition of Aging. Knial was known far and wide for his booming bass voice which serenaded family and friends, his quick humor, and gregarious nature. Most exceptional, however, was the fierce love he had for his family, including former spouse and best friend, Martha Wheeler Johns; two sons, Mark Estep (Shawna), and Keith Iorg; two daughters, Shelley Iorg Cape (Terry) and Patricia Iorg. Beloved grandchildren include Cheyanne Hagler (Anthony), Shelby Estep, Jesse Cape (Brittany), Grant Cape, Julia Hankla (Isaac), as well as great-grandchildren Molli, August, and Aspen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbor House Family Violence Center.

Masonic Memorial Funeral Services for Knial will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. Wednesday until funeral time in the funeral home.  Arrangements under the care and direction of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Online condolences may be shared at www.barnesfamilyfunerals.com.
