Patricia Carol Garner, 73 of Nixa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday May 3rd, 2011 at 10:14am at Cox Medical Center. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 4th. While it was difficult to receive the news that we would only have 8-9 months with her, we were unaware of the aggressive nature of this disease. Her quick departure leaves us heartbroken, but her steadfast faith gives us hope in eternal life with Jesus Christ. Pat was born to Sherman and Esther (Ward) Blevins on June 4th, 1937 at Ridgedale, Missouri. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and brother Roger Blevins. Pat is survived by her husband Bill Garner and her loving little yorkie, Charlie. Other survivors include sister Ladonna and brother-in-law Patrick Harvey of Harlingen, Texas, sister-in-law Carma Sims of Garfield, Arkansas, children and their spouses Pam Young and husband Steve of Ozark, Diana Nelson and husband Bruce of Nixa and Bill Dickerson and wife Brenda of Kansas City, step children and spouses Ken Garner and wife Debbie of Pensacola, Florida, Sheri Slay and husband Mike of Haverhill, Massachusetts, James Garner and wife Eva of Hawaii, Laurie Eveland and husband Jeremy of Marlo, Oklahoma and John Garner of Columbia, Missouri, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins and friends. Pat was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Ozark. She loved her Monday morning bible study group and serving in WMU. Pat’s passions were spending time with family, decorating, volunteering, fashion and of course shopping! Pat gave selflessly of herself caring for her husband Bill. She loved her family and many friends and would always remember their special days with a gift or card. She had just recently begun Saturday shopping trips with her daughters where they had lunch together and laughed endlessly.
