Barnes Family Funerals - Samuel Francis (Frank) Lyttle

Samuel Francis (Frank) Lyttle was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on June 10, 1937 to Samuel and Sarah Jane Lyttle. He went to his Lord in Ozark Mo. on August 7, 2015. He had fought courageously against pulmonary fibrosis for the last several years of his life. Frank and Maureen were married on October 2, 1963 and spent 51 happy years together with their family. In 1981, he and Maureen sold their farm and coal business and emigrated to America to ensure their children had an opportunity to escape the “troubles” of Northern Ireland. They moved to Temple City, California and lived there until 2000, when they relocated to Ozark Mo. Their children will be forever grateful for the life they provided them in the United States. Frank was raised in a farming community and always had a love for the land and animals. He worked with horses as a young man and they were his joy for the rest of his life. He had many horses over the years and was often seen driving his favorite, Dixie, in an Amish-made buggy on the quiet country roads of Ozark. He was a Master Mason, raised in Belfast at McCandless Memorial Lodge #449 in 1976. He became a member of Blue Springs (MO) Lodge #337 in 1994 and watched both his sons become Masters of their Lodges and his grandson Andrew become a Master Mason in 2013. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, and their 3 children, Alan (Andrea), Gary (Kim) and Nicola. They had 6 grandchildren who were their Papa’s pride: Andrew, Jacob, Haylee, Hanna, Kamryn and Dillon. Visitation will be held at Barnes Family Funeral Home, 1700 S. 15th Ave, Ozark MO 65721 from 4-6pm on Sunday 8/9/15. Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Monday 8/10/15 at Barnes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Ozark Presbyterian Church, Ozark MO. or Seasons Hospice Care of Springfield MO.
