Venona Margarett (Kennedy) Potts, 95, of Ozark, MO went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, December 22, 2012, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO. She was born in Hoisington, KS the daughter of Henry and Safronia Mae (Hearn) Kennedy. Venona was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and working on the family Grade A dairy farm. She later moved to Independence, MO then to Ozark, MO in 2000. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her dog, Casey. After 63 years of marriage she was preceded in death by her husband, Orvis; a son, Raymond and a daughter, Carol Ann. Venona is survived by a son, Lyle and wife Ruth Ann of Ozark, MO, grand children; David of Blue Springs, MO, Brenda of Branson, MO, Debbie of Garden City, MO, Jan of Battlefield, MO, Don of Independence, MO., and a host of family and friends. A graveside memorial service will be held in LaCygne, KS at a later date. The family request memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 320 Locust Street, La Cygne, KS 66040.The family appreciates all the prayers and support during this difficult time.     My what memories this brings back. I recall visiting at your place many times during our years in high school and your mother was always ready to welcome us and feed us.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. I knew Nonie from the senior citizen at Victory Baptist Church and love having her there i called bingo and she alway tell me after we was done will you did’nt call my numbers again and alway laugh she is one of the sweetest lady i know and have missed her the last few months you are in my prayer as you go though this time of sorrow
